Resolving error caused by starting DB2-enabled server twice
If you start the DB2-enabled server twice by doing any of the following, an error message is generated.

Starting the IBM DB2 Universal Database™ Enterprise Server Edition server when it is already running
Clicking the shortcut icon too quickly and causing the server to start twice

Note The error is not written to the server console; therefore, you must check the log file to see the error message.

When the server is started twice, the log file, NSERVER.LOG, contains error messages similar to the following:

[1098:0002-04C4] A RM error occurred

[1098:0002-04C4] DB2 Connection preallocation complete, availableCount=0

[1098:0002-04C4] 03/26/2004 10:58:01 PM Unable to initialize DB2 services. DB2-based nsfs will be unusable.

[1098:0002-04C4] Server exiting:: Partition d.org3.lotus.domino.data is already in use.

"Server exiting:: Partition d.org3.lotus.domino.data is already in use"

in server\init.c,ntsvmain.c ?

Resolving this error

To resolve this error, shut down and then restart the DB2 server.

1. Shut down the IBM Lotus Domino server.

2. From the DB2 Command Line Processor (CLP), stop the DB2 server by entering this command:

db2stop force

3. Restart the DB2 server by entering this command:

db2start

4. Start the Domino server.
